Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy


As of May 25, 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”) becomes applicable throughout the European Union. The General Data Protection Regulation introduces significant changes regarding the strengthening of the rights of personal data holders and the measures that must be adopted by companies and public entities for the protection of personal data.

Complying with legislation related to personal data protection and respecting the rights of our users is a priority for IAPMEI. To this extent, and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, IAPMEI is developing a diverse set of technical and organizational measures to ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of the personal data provided to us.

In the course of its activity, IAPMEI collects and processes personal data for the purposes of fulfilling contracts or legal obligations to which it is bound. If the collection and processing of your personal data do not stem from a legal or contractual obligation, IAPMEI will ask for your consent to collect and process those data.
IAPMEI is committed to processing your data in a fair and transparent manner, ensuring confidentiality and security regarding the information requested, and ensuring that it will be used only for the expressly indicated and authorized purposes.

Your personal data will be retained only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is intended.
Whenever the collection and processing of your personal data by IAPMEI have been based on your consent, be aware that you can withdraw such consent at any time, simply by sending us your request via the following email: dpo@iapmei.pt

IAPMEI also guarantees you the right to access data that directly concern you, and you may request its rectification, portability (if technically possible), erasure, restriction of processing, or the right to object to its processing, simply by contacting us through the following email: dpo@iapmei.pt.

By providing your personal data to IAPMEI, the user acknowledges and consents that they be processed in accordance with the terms of this Privacy and Personal Data Processing Statement.
You can always submit any complaint related to our privacy policy on the processing of your personal data to the National Control Authority, namely, to the National Data Protection Commission, Rua de São Bento, n.º 148 – 3.º, 1200-821 Lisbon, email: geral@cnpd.pt.

In the context of the application of the General Data Protection Regulation, IAPMEI has appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) who can provide clarifications on the personal data protection policy at IAPMEI and receive complaints.
